Here are a few things we thought you might want to know for Monday, Nov. 9, 2020:

Indiana broke another daily record for new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, reporting that 5,007 additional Hoosiers had been diagnosed. More than 31,000 new cases have been reported in Indiana since Nov. 1, with 287 deaths reported in November.

In Cass County, 171 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported so far this month.

Due to a large increase in the number of students and staff who have been advised to quarantine due to possible COVID-19 exposure, Logansport High School will transition to e-learning from Monday, Nov. 9 through Friday, Nov. 13.

Logansport Community School Corporation administrators are reviewing and finalizing options for a hybrid schedule for high school students to begin Monday, November 16 and continue through Friday, January 15.

They say a hybrid schedule is a mixture of in-person and online instruction which reduces the number of students on campus at any given time. Logansport High School anticipates transitioning back to fully in-person instruction on Monday, January 18.

LCSC says the total number of active positive cases reported throughout Logansport School Corporation is less than one percent and quarantine cases at other buildings remain low. At this time, no adjustments in schedules are occurring at any other building and all K-8 students will continue in-person instruction as scheduled. More info here.

Lewis Cass students in grades 6 through 12 will have virtual learning from November 9 through 24. More info here.

The Cass County Health Department (CCHD) urges the community to continue following the identified safety precautions of wearing a mask, waiting six feet apart from others, and washing your hands.
